3 Easy Passive Income Ideas For Influencers

One of the hardest parts of being a full time “influencer” is the inconsistency of your income (and schedule). It tends to be different every month and hard to plan around. One solution is to try to create your base salary from passive income, and let brand deals be the cherry on top. If you can set your passive income streams up well to consistently bring in what your actually need, you can get a lot more picky with brand deals, and you can settle into a bit more of a consistent lifestyle instead of relying only on brand deals that are hard to predict. Here are 3 ways to create passive income streams around your content:

  1. Affiliate Links

Affiliate links are one of the best forms of passive income. There are many affiliate shopping platforms, but one of the best is ShopStyle Collective. It is free to sign up and there are no follower requirements (so anyone can sign up). You will make commission on any purchase someone makes through your link, whether they purchased the same item you linked or something else at the same store. Put these links in your YouTube descriptions, swipe ups on IG, all over your blog, on Pinterest and even when texting friends.

  2. Google/YouTube Ads

This is a must if you have YouTube or a blog. On YouTube you must have 4,000 watch hours within the last 365 days, and you must have at least 1,000 subscribers. If you’re doing a great job with SEO, your videos will continue to be found in search for years to come, giving you a great source of passive income. If you don’t feel like you’re making as much as you’d like on YouTube ads, try simply adding another ad to each video. You can customize where your ads are placed, so place them at the beginning and at cliffhanger moments in your video. Having two ads instead of one already doubles your income, or posting eight videos a month instead of four also doubles your income.

  3. e-products

If you can create any kind of e-product, like an e-course, an e-book, a downloadable/printable template for something, Lightroom Presets, etc., it will be great, mostly passive, income. E-products are nice because they usually cost very little other than your time up front to create the product. After that, people can purchase and download the product forever more with very little effort on your part other than advertising the product and maybe the occasional customer service issue. Squarespace is a great platform to sell e-products, but there are many other options as well. Brainstorm any questions you get asked a lot — could you turn the answers into a mini book? Could you share a download of your content planner system or your to-do list method?
